What Island County’s Progressive Democratic Socialists and Sound Publishing don’t want you to know.

Author:Ken Wolf

Two comments were promptly deleted from the Whidbey News Times and South Whidbey Record by Sound Publishing staffers because it contained a copy of a Public Records Disclosure Request submitted to the Island County Commissioners.

The following is a copy of the Public Records Disclosure request:

9 June 2012

Island County Commissioners P.O Box 5000 Coupeville, Washington, 98239

Dear Island County Commissioners,

The following statement was made by Helen Price Johnson on March 21, 2011, “There has been some question about whether or not Holmes Harbor really is polluted and I have to tell you that it absolutely is polluted. We’re named the dirtiest beach in Washington State and now there are a number of factors that have to do with that, but primary to it is that there are poor soils throughout the watershed so even functioning septic systems during the kind of rain that we have been having that stuff washes through your drain field down into Holmes Harbor even at a high functioning level. We can’t have seasonal drain fields to accommodate the kind of growth that we need in Island County around Freeland. We need Freeland to be an urban growth area.” therefore,

Pursuant to the Public Disclosure Act, RCW 42.56, this correspondence is an official request for access to and copies of any and all information pertaining to the following: All records, information, and results pertaining to those properties surrounding Holmes Harbor that underwent dye testing or any other tests performed on their septic systems.

If your agency does not maintain these public records, please let me know who does and include the proper custodian’s name and address. For paper documents please notify me via the following email address: k_s_wolf@peoplepc.com when said documents are assembled and available for my review.

I look forward to your response within five working (5) days. If you choose to deny this request, please provide a written explanation for the denial including a reference to the specific statutory exemption(s) upon which you rely, and provide a listing of all segregated portions of exempt material.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Kenneth J. Wolf

Man. Sound Publishing has no sense of humor, either.

They appear to have just scrubbed every comment made by me or Mr. Burnett from their talkback section.

What a bunch of humorless dweebs.

At least you guys get the joke, even when I cross over into being irritating. Which, I’m sure, is often.

And your Records requests indicated there were NO dye tests or any other tests conducted that would verify or support in any way that Price-Johnson’s claim was based on any factual data
it was all bogus to con the people into thimking septics were a serious problem aka Chicken Little

    Nope. I was wrong.

All my comments are still there. I just can’t see them since Mr. B has apparently blocked me on Facebook.

I thought he was made of tougher stuff than that.

Oh well, the News-Times is still run by humorless dweebs. That part remains true.

Someone from posting on a Facebook thread?
I can think of several times I’d like to block a person like a Neil Colburn or Steve Erickson or Nels, Kelstrom, etc

You’ll have to ask Mr. Burnett how he did his magic. It’s like he’s the Invisible Man now.

Like you said, might be a trick worth knowing how to do when the folks at Wean come lookin’ for you.
