Jill Johnson was sworn in as our new Island County Commissioner for District 2 at 1:30 PM today December 28th by Judge Alan Hancock.

We all wish Jill well. Hopefully we will see a huge improvement in the way our county is adminstered with decisions being made for all Island County residents and not just the special interests groups that have been allowed to run rampant in the county for the last few years.
We certainly hope that as Jill ran and won the election as a Republican that she will uphold the conservative values that voters voted for when she was elected.

I’m also all for making very clear that we need:
a) Better noise disclosure as was promised during the 2012 campaign from Island County Planning
b) A voluntary exclusion zone of two NAUTICAL miles (Google Earth it) funded by Congress around OLF Coupeville
c) The US Navy needs to go on positive offense w/ PR and also an open house w/ a Navy Tac Demo & telling the public what NASWI does
d) When progressive agitators start abusing Island County Commissioners’ public comment with clear misinformation & slander against NASWI the Republicans need to be good Republicans and push back, armed with the facts. Enough is enough.Over and out

In regards to (b) above.Why would we want to spend any amount of taxpayer dollars for exclusion zones around an area where the noise associated with existing navy activities has been well documented and disclosed to all property purchasers?
Republicans need to be good Republicans (and conservatives) when spending taxpayer dollars and ensure that these taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely. These dollars all come from the same place and that is us.
Spending taxpayer dollars for issues that are easily resolved by the owners of these properties is not the answer. Encouraging people to use open market principles and sell their land to those that do not object to the occassional noise and move elsewhere is really the only answer. Everyone wins, the property owner can move to a less noisey place and the taxpayers (us) do not foot the bill for peoples mistakes in life…

Well Cliff, She sure as heck didn’t perform today as she conned those who voted for her believed and wanted what she claimed she said do:
If today’s workshop performance by Jill is an indication of what’s to come we are getting Angie all over again +2.
HPJ stacked the room with her fans and Jill acted just like Homalone; she was a perfect puppet for HPJ and her special interest fan club for “stop OLF noise”
If this continues Jill will have conned all of us with her promises to be a voice of reason claiming she would think and act on what SHE BELIEVES is best; not just supporting what’s not controversial
Did we get a three dollar bill?Jill, the shill, also voted with HPJ to reelect HPJ Chair of the Board of Commissioners again or as Yogi Berra would say “It ain’t over till it’s over…this is like deja vu all over again.”…she was very clever in her efforts to dissemble her incompetence as County Commissioner.
I can’t wait to see if she does a repeat performance in Monday’s Commissionners meeting
