The Island County Republican Caucus will be held on 10:00 March 3rd at the following locations:
1- Lost Lake Club House on Camano Island – 1469 Lake Drive, Camano Island
2- Oak Harbor High School on North Whidbey Island – Student Union Building at Oak Harbor High School, 1 Wildcat Way, Oak Harbor.
3- South Whidbey High School on South Whidbey Island – South Whidbey High School, 5675 Maxwelton Road, Langley.
This year our caucuses will have the great honor of being manipulated by a scoundrel running in Republican clothing.
The cult of Ron Paul, who’s leader Ron Paul has failed in running under the libertarian party name has declared that he is a Republican and will be deluging our Republican Party Caucuses with his cult of followers.
Libertarians who have a small but dedicated following and espouse policies that are opposite of most conservative ideology have recognized the only way that their candidate can succeed is to take another political party over in the hopes that they can game the system to get some recognition for their candidate by manipulating the caucus process.
Our primary system is broken, caucuses across the country are regularly gamed by politicians like Paul who have no chance in a straight election and in many cases we end up after the primaries with candidates that are losers at the ballot box because they are selected at caucuses by a very small number of fanatic supporters.
I liken the Ron Paulians to the mass hysteria driven cult that got our current failed President elected. Ron Paul has absolutely no chance of winning an election for the Presidency even against a candidate with a track record as poor as Obama.
It is not that Ron Paul does not have a few good ideas it is just that some of his ideas are nothing but ravings from the diseased mind of a lunatic and completely out of touch with mainstream Republicans.
His followers exhibit a cult like behavior and seem to be immune to the fact that they believe in many things that are opposite of Republican ideology so if you do attend the caucuses be prepared to see people you have never seen before and that espouse ideas that are quite shocking to the average Republican.
This is sad in the fact that if you take these cult followers out of the equation you have a candidate, Ron Paul, that cannot win on the playing field of fair elections and ideas. That is why he is now running under the Republican ticket instead of the libertarian ticket. Libertarians have been soundly rejected by voters year after year.
The caucus is the only way a person like Paul can gain recognition by having his cult of followers flood the caucuses with sheeple. Thankfully we have voters in this state that are smart enough that even if Ron Paul is selected by these cult followers as a candidate here in this state he will be never be elected by the public at large. Most people are smart enough to see through the cult of Ron Paul and see him for what he is…a crackpot who will game the system to further his fruitcake ideology and who’s ideas are nothing more than the ravings of a diseased mind.
Be prepared folks, this should be interesting….attend the caucuses if for no other reason to see the libertarians prostrate themselves on the platform of a nutcase loser who has to run under another party name to gain recognition.

Certainly agree with your comments. I’ve never been able to have a civil discussion with a ReRun-Ron Paulbot. They always wind up citing others who did this and did that, calling them socialists, liberals, RINO’s (?!) and claiming that Libertarian/Republicans are the only true conservatives in the party.
Excuse me, legalizing marijuana, decriminalizing that and other street drugs, allowing crimes to be committed in one’s home (because the perpetrator is the victim), giving amnesty to illegal aliens and not securing the borders along with ReRun-Ron’s other hair-brain positions, does NOT make him a conservative. It makes him sound like a nut and a centrist, a Nero who fiddled while Rome burned.
We just don’t need another pacifist POTUS. -
Your right on the money. ICRP is currently being managed by the Washington State Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus, a Libertarian organization whose primary goal is to overtake the Republican party. Most of the current Precinct Committee Officers are Libertarians that posed as Republicans and ran for PCO positions in 2010 — only a few Republicans are currently involved in ICRP. This Libertarian strategy is taking place throughout our nation. Unless we want to become the Libertarian Party, Republicans need to band together and get involved in caucus. If we don’t, Libertarians, posing as Republicans, will use our caucus and subsequent conventions to succeed in moving the GOP platform to reflect that of the Libertarian party — and to be clear, Libertarians don’t want “limited government” — they are anarchist that really want “no government.”
