Let’s add Janet Reno’s picture to the rogue’s gallery: Waco; Ruby Ridge; Elian Gonzalez.

Of course, Attorney General Janet Reno claimed that the ATF’s and FBI’s 50-day siege and 09 April, 1995 Final Assault at Waco, TX, which included the use of CS gas, was all done in the name of the safety of the children at that Ruby Ridge compound.

Janet Reno’s concern “for the children” was her PRIMARY justification for her actions at the Ruby Ridge compound when she spoke to Ted Koppel about the incident on national news shortly afterwards.

Also in 1995, Congressman Sonny Bono revealed to then Attorney General Janet Reno that gassing children is not good for them, and she got rather irritated with him.

According to Wikipedia, under “Fatalities of April 19″ – “In all, 76 Branch Davidians died and nine survived the fire on April 19 (five others had been killed in the initial ATF raid and buried on the grounds, one had been killed by ATF after the raid, and 35 had left during the FBI standoff). The list, of course, includes children, all of whom were believed to be alive before the ATF first showed up at that location.

A first-hand account of the final events of the Elián González affair under Janet Reno comes from Marisleysis Gonzalez.

Again, Janet Reno directed armed Federal Agents into a private citizen’s home with weapons in the name of the safety of…a child.

I agree with you CDJ except for the Ruby Ridge Federal attack on an innocent family. That attack occurred in 1992 near the conclusion of the George H.W. Bush administration. Unfortunately the F.B.I murderer of Vicki Weaver was never charged and although justice was not served, the U.S. Marshall Service and the F.B.I. did rightfully suffer loss of public respect for their militaristic attitude and their cavalier destruction of an American family.

AG Janet Reno set several examples, Waco, Elian Gonzalez, and running interference for President Clinton and AG Eric Holder has further contrived and exploited opportunistic attacks against American Citizens. We shall soon see how much Americans will take.

I remember the Jack-Booted-Thug-in-Chief very well, what she ordered to be done, the testimonies she gave before Congress and her lame excuses. It’s why we need to remember our history and keep working to maintain our constitutional rights. Too bad these days it feels like the struggles of Sisyphus.

For anyone who thinks we should trust our current crop of leadership to make decision based on facts and reality, watch this video, as Dianne Feinsteinreading from a prepared statement – states:

“It’s Legal to Hunt Humans with 15, 30, Even 150-Round Magazines”.

The very best American President and Congress are not to be blindly trusted: every citizen is at risk when deemed expendable or expedient by “our” government agencies. The Framers knew this and prepared means to protect the Citizen. A few days ago a promise was made to Senator Rand Paul that American Citizens would not be targeted for death by drone. (DBD) Nice, but does any rational Citizen believe anything our governmental officials promise?
